Ethics for Church Leaders
We need ethics because too many pastors are falling into sexual sin. We need ethics because too many churches are experiencing division. We need ethics because financial scandals, rebellion, insubordination and manipulation continue to undermine the credibility of ministers, ministries and the integrity of the church. We need ethics because the church and its leaders should bear the standard when it comes to professional accountability, peer review and a commitment to excellence.
We applaud the medical community and professional journalism for their ethics. It is noble that lawyers, businessmen and engineers have ethics. The church, however, needs attention. While Ethics for Church Leaders cannot provide all that is required, it can draw our attention back to some basic notions of ethical ministry that have been missing from modern Pentecost.
